Justin and I were sitting around talking last night and realized that we untied the lines a year ago. Wow! Time flies when you’re having fun. We then did a few calculations and figured that out of the past 365 days we have sailed 208 of them. That’s quite a lot, especially in San Francisco Bay during the summer.
We’ve had good sails and bad sails. We’ve had sunny dry sails and dark wet ones. We’ve sweated our a@#! off and froze them off as well. We’ve had sails that were far to short and sails that would never end. We’ve had sails that we will never forget and sails that we wish we could forget.
I have realized a few things. First off, I have never been so continually wet and cold in my whole life. Sailors are really some tough son of a guns. Second, we took our learning curve and put a real steep angle on it. When you have to sail to go get groceries, rain or shine, your perspective quickly changes. Finally, it really tests who you are, what you can do, and what you are capable of.
