I have to say this is the most fun I have ever had in San Fransisco or should I say “Frisco” according to the old salty dog sailors. We had an absolutely awesome sailing day Monday when we sailed from Martinez to San Fransisco. One of the best sailing days so far.
Once we set anchor in the quaint little cove we planned for our trip in the big city. One of the awesome parts of the cove is that it is so close to the city so that not having a vehicle is not a problem. Everything is pretty much in walking distance if you’re up for it.
Yesterday we got the dinghy ready and went ashore. Kids in tow we visited Ghirardelli Square, Maritime Museum, Hyde Street Pier with the old ships, Pier 39, and a little provisioning.
Today on a whim we went to China Town, Coit Tower, and the famous “Crooked Street” of Lombard Street. In China Town we couldn’t help, but hit the market for more provisioning because the prices were just amazingly awesome, especially for the area. Asian markets and Mexican markets have always been our preferred choice.
Looking forward to the next three days here exploring the city.
