Organizing Our Unfinished Westsail 32 Kit Boat, SV Rad Mode, Part 1 (VIDEO)

Honestly I don’t know why I thought it was going to go easier and quicker than it has been. For starters I am not a pro at organizing. I am definitely not OCD and I am not one of those people who has everything in nice little containers with their special place. I don’t even own a label maker.

I admire people who do, but it has always seemed more like a waste of time to me. I would rather live life than be sorting out all the crap in it. Things have changed though. Now I have to be one of those of people… and well it rather quite scares me.

On a boat I quickly found that everything has a place. And when you are done using something it must go right back in that place for two reasons. Reason #1 it will go flying all over the boat when out sailing. Reason #2 there is just not enough space for clutter.

I have made it my mission to find everything a place on Rad Mode. It was easier on our old boat Slurricane because quite simply the boat was done. I know I will have to keep modifying and adjusting where I put things on Rad Mode, but I don’t believe all my efforts are in vane. It’s a starting point. Have to start some where, right? Eventually we will find a place to put everything that Hubby and I will be happy with.

In the meantime I will be reorganizing and trying out new ideas. It is always a challenge because companies that make storage containers do not make them for the weird shapes and sizes of random compartments on a boat. All you boat owners know exactly what I am talking about.

If anyone has any great ideas about organizing a sailboat please do share. Here is the link to Part 2!
