I’m so proud of our daughter Annabelle (6 yrs old) and our son Darius (4 yrs old). We told them tonight that if they want to
eat dinner they have to go catch it. Darius smirked at us, meaning pretty much “I got this” …. And they did! They brought back enough for the whole family! Annabelle throws the casting net like a champ to catch fresh minnows to wish with… and well Darius is just better with the rod and wheel. Those kids can put a minnow on a hook like the pros and bring enough in to feed the family.
We have raised some very capable kids! I know not everyone agrees with our parenting style or understands us as parents (meaning we have to push our kids to have them achieve) but our kids are awesome because of it and I am not worried at all about them when they get older and grow up. It is a blessing that we are able to home school them and they learn so much for it. Home school is a very loose term in this family because we educate them everyday on real life experiences. How many six years olds can perfectly throw a casting net? Or how many four year olds can cook dinner for the whole family? Kids are way more capable than most people give them credit for.
